As I've said before, don't count her out just yet. Jay Cost at RCP has a new post summing up his earlier argument that Hillary has a path to the nomination which is "plausible, but unlikely". I think his reasoning is correct, but I would add a couple of things. (And to head off my own batch of emails accusing me of being a Hillary stalwart, I will first repeat right now that I much prefer Obama as the Democratic nominee.)
A first point, which should hardly need to be made, is that this race is close. Clinton and Obama have divided the party right down the middle. If you look at that fact alone, what can people calling on Hillary to give up now and drop out be thinking? We know that the pledged-delegate count will not settle this. The outcome will depend on the superdelegate vote, and that is not pre-ordained. Hillary would be mad to surrender in this situation.
Second, especially if Hillary can narrow (or overturn) the various vote-count gaps by August, the candidates' standing in the polls will count too. This is the main thing I would add to Jay's take. Suppose that Obama has a small lead in pledged delegates, and Clinton has forced, in effect, a tie in the popular vote. But also suppose that by then the national head-to-head polls show her with a ten-point lead or better over Obama. That will sway some of the superdelegates--as it damn well ought to, since their most important task is to get a Democrat elected.
A lot can happen between now and the summer. (Despite Obama's fine speech on the subject, it is not yet clear how much harm the Wright affair has done to him. There might very well be more such setbacks, for either side.) By the summer, the polls might be tied too, of course--which would be bad for Hillary, because she has to overturn Obama's pledged-delegate advantage. But they might not be tied--and if they aren't, that will matter.

As a Brit with no vested interest in the American election, it breaks my heart to see the Democrats in danger of doing what they have done before. Obama is one of a long line of candidates like Mondale and Dukakis chosen for their appeal within the Democrat ranks, but with no chance whatever of becoming President. Mrs Clinton is a less appealing candidate. But she could win.
Wake up - reinstate Florida and Michigan before it's too late.
As a Irishman with no vested interest, I strongly encourage that Sen. Clinton abide by the rules that she agreed to prior to the contest. Trying to change the rules in the middle of the game is called cheating. We all know that cheaters never win. If America truly wants to restore their tainted image in the world, electing Sen. Obama will be the only hope.
If Obama can stem the bleeding on the Wright matter and pull off the wins he should get (PA isn't one of them) then he will be fine and will be the nominee.
But the Wright story is pretty much the issue here. He's going to be attack mercilessly on this and its to deny him the nomination. He'll be fighting two fronts.
We'll see what happens. But if he doesn't, he won't get the nomination and the democrats will lose come November because I truly believe that like when Jackson ran the AA community will in large numbers stay home since Obama lost the nomination and given the Wright story. Conflate that with young voters who don't turn out and HRC's own unfavorables and you have a huge problem.
If the superdelegates want to win they need to start circling the wagons NOW because they have two flawed candidates running and the democratic primary combined with right wing talk radio, cable news fanning the wright controversy, and mccain hitting both candidates and getting no scrutiny means they've created a circling firing squad on their nominee.
It's bad all around and looks to me like a year where democrats SHOULD win is going to be lost, again.
The Florida Democrats were disenfranchised because the Republican legislature refused to let them stick to the DNC rules. Does Irish Jim think allowing such blatant manipulation is democratic? Or that resisting it is cheating?
One small problem with that statement David. The vote to move the primary was passed unanimously. As in, Democratic party members voted for it as well.
Daniel, I'm a Florida democrat who voted. If my primary vote doesn't count, the Democratic Party won't get another one, and I'm certainly not alone. The DNC voted to restrict Florida and Michigan, why not talk about that. Florida and Michigan simply wanted to stop the "caucus" state of Iowa, and New Hampshire from forever determining who the rest of the vast majority of Democrats can vote for. You would think that people who favor a "50" state strategy would agree. It's time to rotate the schedule so that there is some balance to the process. In the mean time, I'm perfectly content to sit this one out.
Hillary was mad not to drop out when her Super Tuesday strategu failed, and Obama was clearly the front runner; certainly after February, the result was clear. However, her lust for power fuels her to wreck the party and hand the election to the Republicans.
As a Canadian, I have been closely following the Democratic race. I must admit, although I believe both candidates are impressive, I am somewhat bewildered and disappointed by a number of issues.
First, the obvious bias against Hillary is palpable, unprofessional, and truly disheartening. I was watching CNN last night, and all of the focus was on Barak; whenever Hillary's name was mentioned it had some negative connotation attached to it. For example, with regards to the re-seating of the delegates in Michigan and Florida, I stopped counting after 10 inferences that the only reason that she is working so hard to get these delegates re-seated is because she is so far behind Barak - otherwise she would be happy with the status quo if she were ahead. This is just not true - Hillary has maintained from the onset of the primaries that the delegates from these two states should be seated - so why slam her now? In addition, Barak's whole campaign has been about bringing the country together, however, as he has a slight lead, and the polls indicate that he would do poorly in both states, he is trying to portray Hillary's attempt to re-seat these two states as "a sign of desperation". If this is a glimpse into Barak's vision of how to bring the country together, maybe Americans should ask George W to stick around a while longer.
The media is also attacking Hillary for her husbands actions - just ask Spitzer's wife if she is responsible for her husbands actions. Come on - Hillary should ONLY be held accountable for what she has said and done. As for Barak, as the media has never even attempted to vet him (point in case, if they had looked into his past, the Rev. Wright would have come out of the woodworks months ago) he has appeared to be squeaky clean. Do you really want to wait until November to find out the remaining skeletons in his closet? Just look at what has come out in the past few weeks.
I believe both are inspirational and exceptional candidates in their own right - but I also believe that Americans should be able to choose their candidates according to who is the best qualified - not the candidate that CNN has picked for them (with the exception of Lou Dobbs on CNN, the animosity towards Hillary from the CNN team is disappointing, disgusting and unprofessional).
Based on the coverage thus far, as a Canadian, it appears that in America it is not acceptable to admit to racism, but it is acceptable to be sexist.
Mrs. Clinton was able to bring back the Regan democrats back into the democratic party fold, which I think is a huge accomplishment. With the solid support from women and Latinos Sen. Clinton is best able to defeat Mr. McCain and the Republicans in the fall. Our media is wrong to ignore the importance of Latino vote. For Sen. Obama his support among independents and among men are quickly dwindling. And obviously, there’s no caucuses in the presidential race. And after Rezko and Wright scandals Mr. Obama has become too fragile. Black, young and liberal coalition never won presidential elections for the democrats.
Facts:
BOZObama would not be where he is if the news media was not shoving him down the throats of the american people AS WELL AS GIVING HIM A FREE RIDE when it comes to airing obama's dirty; meanwhile the news media does anything and everything to make Hillary look like this racist monster!!!
As well, he would not be where he is if most of the blacks weren't being RACIST and only voting for him because he is black!!! you can say the Clintons played the RACE card but it is the news media who twisted and turned it to make it come out that way... as well, I believe that BOZObama's camp put out the photo of him dressed in the kenyan garb to try and cast Hillary as a racist fear monger!!!
jesse jackson and al sharpton are the biggest RACISTs in the country... well, I take that back; REV. WRIGHT is the biggest racist... but as BOZObama does, he smoothed it over for the SIMPLETONS following him with his ability to use his slick silver tongue!!! he slithers very well when it comes to trouble, just like a snake!!!
I am sorry but the FACT that he did not DENOUNCE and REJECT this rev. wright buffoon tells a story and those that follow him are blinded by his beautiful oratory but those who see him clearly see it for what it is... BOZObama is running to bring people together but still yet he has attended a church, and not only this, he has taken his daughters to this church, so that they can be filled with this anti-american rhetoric... you can see it in Michelle, talking about for the first time in her adult life she is proud of AMERICA... not only this, BOZObama talks about how people are being bamboozled, okie-dokie'd, and hoodwinked
Rhoda is largely wrong in "because I truly believe that like when Jackson ran the AA community will in large numbers stay home since Obama lost the nomination and given the Wright story". Because most African Americans more care about the economy and are against continuing the war. It is clearly evident that Sen. Clinton is a much better president than Obama to deal with there issues. Rev. Wright event also indicates that Obama can not win the heart of the major Americans, since people can not trust him after knowing he can stay in a church with anti-American sounds. If he is the nominee, I'm sure the democrat will lose the general election again. This is not a good final for AA people.
She has a path via Wright. I have been as devoted a democrat as there can be, and I can't stomach Obama now. No way. I hope my party elders will stop this nomination. He won't have 2025 any more than Hillary will and we've given them this power for a reason. He has perpetuated everything I have fought against my whole life and that is racism and hatred. And there is no excuse for not being a man and making the tough choice to walk away. As president he would be called upon to make many hard choices, at 3:00 am and beyond. Seriously. I'm no right wing nut, but I get where they are at with this. The anti-americanism Wright preaches is abhorent. If Oprah could leave this church so should have Obama. We are holding him accountable. He wants us on one hand to excuse him and Wright because they are black and on the other to not notice they are. We didn't want to notice. It's now been forced on us. I don't like what I see and hear. I don't want o vote for a republican. It makes me sick to think about. But not as sick as giving the keys to the white house to Obama and his associates.
BOZObama talks about how people are being bamboozled, okie-dokie'd, and hoodwinked
One more thing--the media can't save him now. They are trying desperately to spin this for Obama, they are losing their minds that he could have blown this. I truly believe the american people have taken back this race and are going to speak defiantly against Obama in the coming contests no matter what the media tries to tell them. Silly or not--Americans don't take lightly to someone spitting on our country and we deserve a president who would have done anything to stop that person from doing it.
Thanks Muniz4Hillary for showing me the light. Your thoughtful comments have helped me to pick a candidate.
If Hillary has to rely on super delegates to win, the Obama supporters will scream foul. That means she'll lose in November anyway. It's going to be too close a race against McCain for her to lose even a few percent of the democratic electorate to revenge by hardcore Obama supporters.
It might be unfair, not right, a crime against nature. Whatever. But that's the effect of a bruising primary battle at work.
I felt hope and a sense of peace while listening to Mr. Obama giving his historical speech the other night. This man, with his logical intelligence and strong senses of who he is, and what Americans need, will provide Americans with integrity and believability all over the world, as well as renewed respect and unity (much of which has been lost during the Bush administration). I am Canadian and have been watching the primaries quite closely. What happens in the US will have a dramatic affect on my country. I don't believe for one second that McCain would serve the country well - seems to me he is mostly just another Bush with a different name. I had respect for Senator Clinton, but that has been destroyed by her nasty campaign tactics and onslaughts against Obama. I hope Americans vote for the right candidate - the world needs President Obama.
Right on SM! I'm an American permanently living in Canada and I too have been disgusted with the CNN attack squad. I used to respect their reporting, but not anymore. I was raised in a America thinking that the news media should give unbiased news coverage and save the comments and rhetoric for the people on which they report on (My naivete) It seems the only comments that CNN cares about are their own and the cacophony of political punks that are puppeted and cattle driven in to the CNN studios to report the biased opinions of the producers and advertisers.
Why is this? Because in their eyes it's all about business and money. It makes for better television to support Barrack Obama. Yes, CNN is banking for the next four years on Barrack Obamania to add a whole new viewership of young people(Barrack "Rock" Obamaniacs)and then barrage them with advertising. CNN could care less who the country elects, as long as it extends and sells their viewership and for now they want Barrack for that! Never mind what's good for the country as a whole. I still have not decided who I am voting for. What I'm looking for is less rhetoric and more substance. I do believe experience is important and needed to make change. Also, the next president has to surround him or herself with competent, highly qualified people who have the knowledge, power and savvy to bring America back from the downward spiral they seem to be heading. Yes, I do believe the next president has to have some magnetic drawing power with the American people in order to keep their focus and hopes alive, but once that occurs, the president better have more than rhetoric to stay alive and kicking in the white house or it's asta la vista baby! As for the news media.....it's simply shameful where they are heading....God Bless America...or is that not politically correct?
There's no doubt that given his genius for organization, the breadth of his appeal, and his insight to political realities, long range and short range, Obama could take the white house and give us - not another JFK, not another (but successful) McGovern, not another savvier Carter or a more humane (Bil) Clinton, but another FDR for the 21st Century.
But there is no doubt that the Clinton camp and the media have wounded his chances deeply.
Clinton's 'winning' the nomination would be meaningless. With disapproval ratings almost as high as Bush's the likelihood of her defeating the grandpa-next-door McCain are slim; and she has already made pacts with conservatives, both Democrat and Republican from which she will be unable to disentangle her administration, should she win.
There is no good scenario here for progressives. I'm afraid Clinton has already done her damage; the Democratic Party is just about done as an historical entity.
Seems to me that an important aspect of the story regarding Rev Wright has been left out of the press. The rhetoric of the Religious Right isn't all that different than the rhetoric of Rev Wright. But for some reason the preachings of the Religious Right seem to be acceptable by the masses, yet when Rev Wright preaches he is branded a hate monger. Please cover this aspect of the story so the public is informed of the full spectrum of what goes on in churches of all stripes across America. See below. Thank you.
Obama's Minister Committed "Treason" But When My Father Said the Same Thing He Was a Republican Hero
Frank Schaeffer | Posted March 16, 2008 | 04:23 PM (EST) | Huffington Post
When Senator Obama's preacher thundered about racism and injustice Obama suffered smear-by-association. But when my late father -- Religious Right leader Francis Schaeffer -- denounced America and even called for the violent overthrow of the US government, he was invited to lunch with presidents Ford, Reagan and Bush, Sr.
Every Sunday thousands of right wing white preachers (following in my father's footsteps) rail against America's sins from tens of thousands of pulpits. They tell us that America is complicit in the "murder of the unborn," has become "Sodom" by coddling gays, and that our public schools are sinful places full of evolutionists and sex educators hell-bent on corrupting children. They say, as my dad often did, that we are, "under the judgment of God." They call America evil and warn of immanent destruction. By comparison Obama's minister's shouted "controversial" comments were mild. All he said was that God should damn America for our racism and violence and that no one had ever used the N-word about Hillary Clinton.
Dad and I were amongst the founders of the Religious right. In the 1970s and 1980s, while Dad and I crisscrossed America denouncing our nation's sins instead of getting in trouble we became darlings of the Republican Party. (This was while I was my father's sidekick before I dropped out of the evangelical movement altogether.) We were rewarded for our "stand" by people such as Congressman Jack Kemp, the Fords, Reagan and the Bush family. The top Republican leadership depended on preachers and agitators like us to energize their rank and file. No one called us un-American.
Consider a few passages from my father's immensely influential America-bashing book A Christian Manifesto. It sailed under the radar of the major media who, back when it was published in 1980, were not paying particular attention to best-selling religious books. Nevertheless it sold more than a million copies.

It seems Hillary's only claim/chance at being the Democratic Party's nominee is her "electability." Meaning, she is behind in pledged delegates, popular vote, and contests won to date and very likely will be in June. So, my question is, if she is so electable then why are the people not supporting her claims via the vote? She isn't able to beat Obama but yet she is the most electable canidate? Nice logic!
Clinton's and their talking heads will say anything, and even more scary they believe what they say is the truth no matter how far it actually is from it. She is trying to win I get it. But she seems more concerned about herself than the party and the task at hand. Case in point is this nonsense about her and McCain "passing the Commander and Chief threshold" but Obama has not. Nice job Ms. Rove!
These tactics make it hard to support her if she finds a way to steal the nomination. I always tell my 12 year old son,"just because you can do something doesn't mean you should." I wish I could tell Hillary and anyone that listens to hear tired rhetoric the same. Stop this madness. You have been behind in every facet since Iowa and you are not helping the party defeat the Republicans. In fact, your divisive tactics are helping them. Just because you can try to fool the people/Superdelegates into thinking you are the "more electable canidate" depsite all indications to the contrary thus far, does not mean you should.
PEACE
I agree with mark. I too am a Florida Dem and if Obama will not let my vote count now, he will not get my vote in Nov.
Today confirmed what I already knew. The media is out of control with Obama. I heard a Fox News reporter saw "since Obama will likely win the nomination..." They have changed their tatics in a desperate attempt to help Obama. First they reported on how close the race was to attract viewers to and keep an audience but now since Obama has started messing things up they are directly pulling for him. If I (a white American) made a speech like Obama did saying he still will stick with his racist Church and that his grandmother was scared of black people I would be called a racist and un-patriotic. I would have been thrown out of this country! The excuses he and media are giving blows my mind. Saying because other black churches do this makes it OK?? And calling that speech "heroic" and comparing it to the Gettysburg Address is outrageous! Obama would never have made that speech if it wasnt for this incident and it was all just a PR stunt anyway. It reminds me of throwing a bone (speech) so that the dog (media) will stop attacking a man. (Obama) Remember what a big deal was made over "nappy headed hoes" Where is this media critism now? Why is it racist to say the N word if you are white but not when you are black? Lets face it African Americans are racist too! The "Wright" incident further reveals this to the public. With all of these major states going for Hillary, I dont see why Obama should be the nominee. This race isnt over. America is getting a true taste of who Obama really is.
If you want further proof of my points about Hillary and her supporters distorted reality, check out "Muniz4Hillary"'s post. This persons "Fact" section is all the proof you will ever need of the psychosis that is the Hillary campaign. Not a single fact in there.
You can only speculate that the hope is that you are all dumb enough to think that the statement, "jesse jackson and al sharpton are the biggest RACISTs in the country", is a fact because someone said it was. LOL! Not only is there no factualy evidence in any of the "Facts" post, but what is worse is that it is an ignorant attack on the FRONT RUNNING Democratic candidate! I think Muniz is for McCain but I will not state that as a fact. :) The fact is that this nonsense is dividing the party. Nice work.
Christine D and Mark:
It was not and is not Obama who "will not let your vote count" in Florida or Michigan, it was the DNC!!! Hillary and all canidates agreed to the process and signed their name to it. Hillary convientally likes to leave that little tid bit out in her desperation to win at all costs. Don't be fooled. Please know the facts before commenting on such important matters. Thank you.
Mark,
If that is how you feel about it, that is your right. Indeed I would have to say the Democratic party did indeed screw you over. My suggestion would be to get rid of whoever is your incumbant state officials and replace them with someone who won't cause you to lose your vote in the primary next time.
Don't blame all this on Senator Obama. He was hurt by your state being forced out of the Primary more than Senator Clinton I suspect. Of COURSE Senator Clinton won the primary in Florida. She was the only one with household recognition at the time. He wasn't allowed to work toward that recognition or try to win your vote. Nor was anyone else, though Senator Edwards had at least the fact that he was on the ticket in 2004.
That is why the primary was not fair. In my opinion if your voting machines had not all been trashed already I would want a complete revote according to the normal rules of the state primary. But your own elected officials made that impossible, and the alternative given, a mail in revote, is something which Oregan has taken ten years to perfect. That is not something to be dived into in a three month period.
But again, don't blame this on Senator Obama. Blame it on your state legislation and the Democratic National Committee. Neither of them blinked in this electoral game of chicken, and now we have a really bad reck.
But also suppose that by then the national head-to-head polls show her with a ten-point lead or better over Obama. That will sway some of the superdelegates--as it damn well ought to, since their most important task is to get a Democrat elected.
I hope the superdelegates will not be making their decisions based on polls. They are supposedly the "wise elders" of the Democratic party. I would argue that their task is to use their wisdom to cast their votes for the BEST possible candidate that represents the best values of the Democratic party and of the country.
Why is it you writers are always failing to see one of Hillary's strengths to the Democratic party. Do you not realize there is a huge block of us Republican women who are voting for Hillary--who will never vote for Obama? I have never voted Democratic in my life and I am 61, but I will vote for Hillary--given the chance. Why are we Republican (primarily women) who are supporting the smartest, most prepared and fantastic Democratic woman (Hillary Clinton)ignored? If and when Hillary does win and then win the presidency, you guys will be sitting back and will still be scratching your heads--trying to figure out how she did it.
"The media is out of control with Obama. I heard a Fox News reporter saw "since Obama will likely win the nomination..." They have changed their tatics in a desperate attempt to help Obama."
Uh, so Fox News is pro-Obama? This is the network with wall-to-wall coverage of the Wright controversy. The one that runs all the stories implying he's an american-hatin' socialist.
Pretty odd claim to make.
Bevv:
Hillary is smart but so is Obama. It is clear you will vote for Hillary but it is unclear why you would not vote for Obama. So enlighten us. You should be pushing for Laura Bush. That is your dream canidate. Think about it, she has 8 years of the same experience as Hil, is a Republican, and fits your demographic to the tee.
If Hil Rove wins he nomination I will not be scratching my head. I will know she burned down the party and stole the nomination. It will be no surprise. She is a Clinton. Change is good!!!!

"A Scandal", How did MSM allow Obama to almost get Dem Nomination without any Vetting, until YouTube videos shown?
One excuse is that the Rev. Wright quotations were taken out of context. This is usually the last refuge of the correctly quoted who can't think of a better out. There's no way those statements can be justified or become acceptable even if washed and diluted by six oceans of context.
Another defense offered is that critics don't understand the black church. As Larry Elder, a black talk show host who understands the black church, said, "Rev. Wright sounds like a combination of David Duke, Minister Farrakhan and Moe of the Three Stooges."
This would be a scandal and an association that would wipe out most candidates, but the mainstream media is acting as a campaign manager and cheerleader for Mr. Obama. In one of the great journalistic disgraces and failures in American history, the mainstream media has allowed Mr. Obama to reach the brink of nomination without any vetting to speak of.
I, too, am disgusted by how bias the media has been. It is so apparent that they are spinning this in Barrack's favor. Guys, wake up!! A vote for Barrack is a vote for McCain. And that's exactly were it's headed. I'm blown away by how naive most Americans are. How do you think Bush got re-elected? For the future of America... VOTE FOR HILLARY. It's our chance to get the country back on track. She is strong, smart and experienced. She may not be the most likable, but it's not a popularity contest.... it's the election for the leader of the free world. And to be quite frank, Barrack's less than bold denounement of his pastor is frightening to me.

Dear John Lewis-
No one is making you or anyone else listen/watch the media!!! Get over it. Base your vote on the real issues not the media spoon feeding you are clearly engaged in now.
I love that like most Hil supporters you ignorantly jumped on the Rev. Wright issue before knowing the facts. The fact is that when the Clinton's were in office they not only supported Rev. Wright, THEY INVITED HIM TO BE THIER GUEST AT THE WHITEHOUSE!! LOL! You can't make this stuff up. Smile for the camera Billy boy! LOL!!!
Barrack the vote!!!
No matter what, IT'S ALL ABOUT WHO WILL BEAT MCCAIN.
Give the nomination to Obama for the reasoning of the pledged delegates, not to upset his supporters, etc and there will be NO Democrat as a President.
So say what you will about Hillary. It depends on the END GAME...Period.
Obama will never win. All the media push in the world, and he has gotten a bigger push than any candidate in history, cannot change that fact. Message to Obamaniacs - there is a huge bloc of people out there in America who don't trust this guy, and that is the hard working "regular folks" who see Obama for the self-serving elitist that he is. Go ahead and try to stampede him into the election with the media on your side, cheerlading the way. It won't work. He has no chance whatsoever of becoming the President of this country.
Look, everything needs to be done to stop Obama. There is so much more out there on him that hasn't even been covered let alone reported to the American people. He is a huge security risk for this country unless you have zero brains and haven't taken the time to investigate beyond the hype. I don't care what kind of speeches he makes, he consorts with too many terrorists with Muslim ties for my comfort range. Coming from a high ranking military family, you have no idea the shock at military bases regarding this. Obama is too close to the oval office for anyone's comfort that is in the loop.
You could take his association with Tony Rezko through Ayers to Auchi to Mammar al-Cadaffi to Farrakhan to Dr. Wright. That is the money flow.
You could open up Obama's ties with his cousin, Obinga, the now co-president of Kenya and find some very shocking and truthful issues there.
This man has far to many ties to the messages of radical Islam that is even being reported. Dr. Wright's association with these above-mentioned players is the gate, the cover and the American media should be criminally charged for withholding this from the America people until it is almost to late to stop Obama.
It should go beyond fancy words, and into the ability of someone to lead this great land with the honor of what she was built upon. Obama doesn't have a pinch of that stuff. Far to many things to prove that, than anyone should write in a blog.
Obama must be stopped. The security of America depends on it
We will continue to work to be certain it happens, I just hope that you, the media stops your fairy tale support of him... or the blood lost becuase of his election will be on your hands.
The only people that will be happy if Obama is elected with be those Americans that just are blind and haven't connected the dots, or the Muslim countries that are waiting to see if America, will conform to their desires with a candidate that is one with them.
Wake-up America. You have little time.
Obama may be the nominee but he will never win in the general election. He will never be President of the US. Having Richardson as a VP will not help.
Now the the true nature of the man behind the rhetoric is revealed, combined with his inexperience for the job, he is toast.

Demi has got it all right. This is just a huge Muslim conspiracy to take down America by getting Obama elected.LOL!!! Sounds perfectly logical.
This is more proof that the Hil Rove camp is more desperate than ever. Richardson can't even stomach the notion of Hil as president and he knows her far better than any of us bloggers could hope to or want to. So does this mean Richardson is a dot to connect in the vast Muslim conspiracy? LOL!!! Nice work people.
By the way, if you want to keep bringing up Rev. Wright then you better start explaining why Hil and Bill invited him to the WHITEHOUSE while "they" were in office. LOL! You really can't make this up! Wait! Maybe Bill and Hil are part of the conspiracy too! They are putting Hil up to look like suck an idiot that Obama will win. Makes sense right? LOL!!! Go Billary Rove go!!!!
Does anyone know why in Michigan all the candidates took their name off the ballot except Hillary? Once the DNC said Michigan won't count, from what I've read Edwards, Obama, and others said take my name off the ballot. But Hillary went her own way and thus the contest was between Hillary and uncommitted. Why didn't she follow the same path as the others? If she had done so she would be in a much better position to say let's have a primary in Michigan. Leaving her name on the ballot is another misstep in her campaign. The nomination was hers to lose at the outset, and she masterfully did just that -- she lost it.
Clinton has nothing to offer as a candidate that she didn't have the day before the Iowa primary. She has lists, sound bites, and "solutions."
Obama has more to offer the electorate every week; his candidacy has been marked by growth, intellectual comprehension of the dramatically changing and charged political and world dynamic. With each challenge he seems to have the promise to be a better president than the day before. A leader must educate the electorate in order to be successful. In my opinion he does that every day. Clinton seems to be driven simply by an obsessive tactical war to somehow weaken Obama, and become the default candidate. Today, I received an email from "New Yorkers for Hillary" whose purpose was to inform me that Obama was "endorsed" by the Black Panthers. Proof of this endorsement was said to be on the Panther's MySpace page [!!??] Maybe the next email will quote an endorsement from Al-Qeadda, Inc. and Idi Amin. Q: How low can she go? A: Even lower.
She will continue to campaign as long as she wants. Eventually her supporters will get tired of pissing their money away, and then she will stop. Her campaign has besmirched her character and political skills and left her a cipher.

Using that logic Hillary is even less electable. Her whole campaign has been based on “experience” and slogans such as “Ready on day one”. It turns out that her “experience” is greatly exaggerated or in some cases actually taking credit for years of hard work done by others.
I come from a predominantly Republican state and almost everyone in Hillary Clinton’s key demography groups loathes her in this state. However they also say they’re going to vote for her in the primary. Good thing the May thirteenth is a “Beauty contest”. The closed democratic caucus was part of Obama’s post super Tuesday sweep.
I agree with mark. I too am a Florida Dem and if Obama will not let my vote count now, he will not get my vote in Nov.

And you have a point? The actual chances of your state going Democratic in the General election are slim to none. I know how Clinton supporters hate it when the math isn’t on their side!
However a reality check is in order. The Republican Governor Charlie Crist has a 70%+ approval rating he is endorsing McCain. The Florida state legislature is Republican controlled. Approximately two thirds of the members of congress from Florida are Republicans. Please explain how your state is anything other than being firmly in the Republican camp at this time? It’s not a “Crucial swing state” except in someone’s pipe dream.
James:
Hillary has got you fooled my friend. There is no media influence unless you allow one. Get it?
Lets say there was a media bias. It would then be clear that the bias is against Obama and for Hillary Huckabee. Think about it. Obama has a lead in states won, pledged delegates, and a 700k+ lead in popular vote. READ THAT AGAIN SLOWLY!!!!
If those numbers were reversed the Clinton cronies(including the media) would be shouting from the roof tops that Obama needed to give it up and do what was right for the party. So quit making excuses and start dealing with the reality that your girl is getting her hat handed to her. She is looking more like Huckabee everyday and sounding more like Carl Rove with each desperate sound bite the media graciously allows on the air waves to fuel the ignornants.
Get with the the party and support Obama or join the Redumblicant's of Obama so turns your stomach.
.."who see Obama for the self-serving elitist that he is." Plug in Clinton's name and you will have a truly factual statement.
The superdelegates should end this mess right now by unanimously pledging for the candidate ahead in delegates and popular votes and save the Democratic party from self destructing.

You know, it is remarkable what lengths a media-propped losing candidate's fanatical supporters will go to to continually justify their candidate's narcissistic and hedonistic bid for a candidacy she can't possibly win in any form that would allow her to win in November.
Seriously, Hillary supporters, it's over.
Obama's leading in the polls once more, America is satisfied with his answers re: Reverend Wright(it wasn't really as big an issue as it was trumped up to be), and now with the Richardson endorsement I hope to see the supers close the clamps before the nutty Clintonites decide to pull the electoral equivalent of Jonestown on the Democratic Party.
Hillary supporters, your candidate lost fair and square. Actually, more than fair and square; Starting with all the establishment support, the help of half a dozen state machines, a 100 superdelegate headstart, name-recognition up the wazoo, and full control over a media that first proclaimed her inevitable, then went nuclear on Obama before March 4., and then gave us wall-to-wall Wright-ranting for 3 days straight.
I know how hard this is to take, but Hillary lost. Obama is really not a bad guy. Try to like him. I know the heat of a campaign can make people nutty, but Obama is a genuine guy who worked his way up through college, served a crime-ridden poverty-blighted community for years, and believes in a philosophy of bottom-up democracy that you'll really appreciate if you take the time to consider it's implications.
From an Obama supporter to you, please, put down the pickaxes. There is no need to shred our nominee.
Everyone is talking about Barack Leads in Popular vote and Pledge delegates, but I find this lead not to be a truly lead. A true lead would include Florida and Michigan votes. If these states were counted it would make a great difference with within the pledge delegates and the popular vote, possibly putting Hillary out front. Florida should stand as is none of the candidates campaign there and therefore it is what it is. Michigan should have a revote or settle the delegate at 55% for Hillary and give Barack the remaining percentage.
I think some people are having buyer's remorse. I love to see a repolling of completed primaries of Barack and Hillary and see if Barack still would win and or come as close in states such as Nevada, Texas, Wisconsin, California, and Missouri.
Democratic are suppose to be the party of every vote should count!!!
I am that interfering Englishman back again to comment on matters that don't concern me. From the outside it looks blindingly obvious that the USA will never elect a candidate whose religious adviser - the man who married him and baptised his kids - says 'God damn America'. Nominate Obama and you hand the presidency to the Republicans. Simple as that. The DNC must find a way out of this deadly situation.
If the Dems. ran there nomination like the Rep. do and the same way we elect our pres. (winner take all). Hillary would be so far ahead of Obama people would be calling for him to quit.
